We believe that providing equality of opportunity to anyone applying to college is of the greatest importance.
Unfortunately, there have been times when people have been deprived of opportunities because of the colour of their skin, their gender, their sexual orientation, their religion or because of a disability. We want to make sure that this does not happen at Borders College. For this reason, we are asking sensitive personal questions about you in this section so that we can make sure you are getting a fair chance. It will also help us to offer you services to make the most of your time at College if you need and want them.
The data you provide will be kept securely, is confidential and protected by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) EU 2016/679 and the new Data Protection Act 2018. We will use the data to ensure our services are being fair to everyone. We will share the data with the Scottish Funding Council who will treat it confidentially and will use it only for statistical purposes.
We would like you to complete all the questions in this section to help us make sure our services are fair but there are always the options to tell us you would prefer not to say.
